Emissions trading: An update for the DEHSt Virtual Post Office (VPS) is now available (02/2018)

Dear Sir or Madam,

Today, we need to draw your attention to a security update for VPSMail: it is available for use immediately.

The update cannot be installed without user interaction and you will also need full administrator rights.

This update provides a security patch for the VPSMail update system and for the current Java version 8 Update 161.

If you still use the Java WebStart installer, we would like to inform you that the software manufacturer Governikus will no longer support the Java WebStart variant as from the 4th quarter of 2018. Also please note that as of 4th June 2018, the current version of the MSI installer, version 1.2.0 for VPSMail, will also no longer be supported by Governikus. We therefore ask you to make the changeover to the new MSI installer variant before 1st June 2018.

It is therefore very important to carry out the update before this date at the latest!

Please forward this e-mail to your IT administrator!

The following steps have to be carried out for the installation:

  1. Download the VPSMail-setup_201.msi (Version 2.01) file from the Governikus website by the link Download DEHSt Software.
  2. Run this file to install the update with administrator rights.
  3. IMPORTANT. Do not start VPSMail with administrator rights after installing but start VPSMail directly after installation with user rights (not with administrator rights).

It is not necessary to uninstall the previous version of VPSMail via the control panel. More information about installing VPSMail can be found on the Governikus website and in the installation guide.
