DEHSt publishes Annual Report for 2017

The German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) at the German Environment Agency as the competent authority published the report of the german auctions of emission allowances (EUA) for 2017. In addition to the detailed analysis of German auction results, the report also contains a comprehensive overview of secondary market developments.

VET report 2017

In 2017, the European Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) recorded 1,833 stationary installations in Germany. These installations emitted around 438 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2eq), which represents a 3.4 percent decrease compared to 2016.

Emissions trading for aviation

Not only the industrial and energy generating sector, but aviation too are major contributors to global emissions, and their share is on the rise. Aviation has therefore been included in European emissions trading since 2012.

Projects in the fuel sector

The Upstream Emission Reduction Regulation (UERV) came into force on 30/01/2018. It enables companies marketing fossil fuels in Germany to meet up to 1.2 percent of their greenhouse gas reduction rate with upstream emission reductions (UER) from the obligation year 2020 onwards.
