In addition to a detailed evaluation of German auction results, our auctioning reports also contain a comprehensive overview of developments on the secondary market. The reports also include monthly data on available OTC trading volumes. The inclusion of these data provides a more complete picture of the overall market volume in EU-Allowances (EUA) trading.
The following chart shows the auction prices of the German EUA auctions held since 2013 (dots). The lowest (red dot) and the highest (green dot) auction price levels achieved in this period are indicated separately.
In order to guarantee a reliable market environment free of manipulation on the EEX, continuous surveillance is conducted by an independent Market Surveillance Office (Handelsüberwachungsstelle, HÜSt), as required under German law. The HÜSt regularly sends internal reports to the DEHSt with updates on their surveillance activities.
