The focus of DEHSt's work as the Designated National Authority (DNA) for CDM projects and Designated Focal Point (DFP) for JI projects lies in the approval of climate protection projects. Through its approval, Germany becomes an investor state in CDM projects and JI projects outside of Germany and host country for JI projects within Germany. DEHSt also validates and confirms verification reports in JI projects and submits requests for validation.
DEHSt makes a point of not only fulfilling essential administrative tasks, but also to provide a reliable service around the preparation of applications for companies involved in climate protection projects. This includes the publication of guidelines, support documents and answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on our website. A project database is accessible for the public through our website. It contains an overview of projects with German participation. Furthermore, DEHSt takes part in conferences and is involved in committee work in order to further the development of climate protection projects.
